MINI John Cooper Works Paceman model reveal

DETROIT – Fans of the small-car brand packed the Mini display Monday as the automaker revealed its latest vehicle: The Mini John Cooper Works Paceman.

Mini now has seven vehicles in its lineup and the John Cooper Works Paceman could be its most intensely sporty-looking car yet. The Paceman was unveiled at the Los Angeles auto show in November, but the John Cooper Works edition made its world premiere Monday in Detroit.

Of course, it's not all about how awesome it looks. This car packs a serious punch.

It's an even quicker version of the "big" Paceman coupe unveiled this past fall. The reveal began with a race countdown and nothing less could be expected for a coupe that boasts 208 horsepower – about 30 more horsepower than the regular version of the Paceman.

Mini emphasized sporty style with enough practicality for the urban landscape. The automaker says its fastest-growing sales have been in America where it was up 15 percent in 2012.

The Mini display at Detroit's Cobo Center makes you eager to take one for a spin on an open road or through the city streets. If speed and quickness is what you're looking for, don't pass up the Mini display.
