DETROIT – Yes, the MLB trade deadline has passed, but the waiver trade deadline has not.
Last week, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander cleared waivers, making him eligible to be traded yet again.

The team chose not to move him before the non-waiver deadline, but teams are still calling.

The real deadline for summer trades is Aug. 31 at midnight ET. After that day, any player added to a Major League roster will not be eligible for the postseason.
