Lions cut ties with TE Tony Scheffler

Tony Scheffler has been with Lions since 2010

DETROIT – The Detroit Lions have parted ways with TE and Michigan native Tony Scheffler.

Scheffler played for Western Michigan University and was acquired by the Lions in 2010. Scheffler's best season came in 2011 when he earned Matthew Stafford's trust in the red zone and finished with five touchdown receptions.

Scheffler had a slow start to the season before suffering a concussion that has kept him out the past two games.

In honor of Tony Scheffler and his great touchdown dances and antics, here is one of our favorite moments.
