ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The puck drops at 1 p.m. on New Year's Day at the Big House in Ann Arbor as the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs face off for the Winter Classic.
You can watch it all on Local 4! Coverage begins at 12 p.m. with Bernie Smilovitz and Mickey Redmond. They'll be on the field with pre-game reports. Jamie Edmonds will be with players before and after the game. Steve Garagiola will be covering fans.
In the last half century, the Wings and Leafs have faced just three times in the post-season – in the 1987 Norris Division finals; and the 1988 and 1993 Norris Division semifinals – but realignment has put the two teams in the same seven-team Atlantic Division where they can revive the rivalry again.
Ann Arbor has been a buzz with preps for the game, which is aiming to set an attendance record for a hockey game -- More than 107,000 people are expected to attend.

The previous record is 104,173, set during the Michigan State-Michigan Big Chill at the Big House college game in 2010.
