Headline Goes Here

DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings look to snap their five-game winless streak when they host the Central Division-rival Nashville Predators on Saturday. Detroit has gone 0-3-2 since posting a 3-2 home victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Feb. 10.

The Red Wings dropped a 3-2 decision to the Blue Jackets on Thursday as Vinny Prospal scored with 25 seconds remaining in the third period to complete Columbus' comeback from a two-goal deficit.

After totaling nine goals over its previous two games, Nashville went cold offensively Friday and suffered a 1-0 home loss to the Vancouver Canucks. The Predators have been involved in five shutouts over their last nine games, going 3-2-0 in those contests. Nashville is attempting to defeat Detroit for the second time in five days after edging the Red Wings at home in overtime Tuesday on captain Shea Weber's goal 44 seconds into the extra session.

ABOUT THE PREDATORS (8-5-5): After allowing 14 goals while going 0-2-3 in his first five starts of the season, Pekka Rinne has turned his game around. Rinne is 7-2-1 over his last 10 starts with three shutouts. The 2012 Vezina Trophy finalist has surrendered a total of 12 goals during that stretch and has held opponents to fewer than two tallies seven times. Rinne is 12-5-3 lifetime against the Red Wings and 7-1-0 in the last eight meetings between the teams.

ABOUT THE RED WINGS (7-7-3): Detroit held a 2-0 lead three times during its winless streak. It went on to lose 4-3 in overtime to the St. Louis Blues on Feb. 13, the setback that began the slide, and dropped 3-2 decisions to Nashville on Tuesday and Columbus. Kyle Quincey left Thursday's game with a sprained left ankle and could miss the matchup with the Predators. The Red Wings already are without defensemen Brandon Smith and Carlo Colaiacovo because of shoulder injuries.

Including the playoffs, Nashville has won four straight meetings with Detroit and seven of the last eight.

Detroit RW Mikael Samuelsson, who missed 12 games earlier this season with a groin injury, is out again with a broken finger. He has appeared in only three contests during his second stint with the Red Wings.

Red Wings C Pavel Datsyuk had his five-game goal-scoring streak snapped by Columbus on Thursday.
