Albion's No. 12 Kyle Alsheskie celebrates one of his two goals in a game against Augustana on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 in Albion.

ALBION, Mich. - The Albion Britons hosted Heidelberg on Friday in a hard-fought battle which they would end up losing 2-0.

Albion's sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Bobowski -- along with senior defender Charles Micunek (No. 14 ) and sophomore defender Michael Reitmyer (No. 21 s) fought throughout the game to keep the ball out of the net with an impressive effort -- despite the loss.

They did find success in their efforts the next day with a strong offensive attack against Augustana on route to a 3-1 win.

Albion senior forward Kyle Alsheskie (No. 12) earned a brace in the Augustana match with goals in each half, both assisted by sophomore Colin Howard (No. 15). The goal in between Alsheskie's was a long and stellar shot by sophomore Steven Lockhart (No. 10) whose ball ended up deflecting off an Augie defender to find its way into the net.

Augustana's Adam Bengfort scored on a penalty kick late in the game with only 6 minutes left.

The Albion men's next game is at home against Carroll at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept 6. (Click here to view the team's full schedule)
