DETROIT - Miguel Cabrera will return to the Detroit Tigers' starting lineup Tuesday night after being activated from the 10-day disabled list, the team announced Tuesday.
Cabrera will bat third and play first base.

Cabrera last played on April 21 when the Tigers were in Minnesota. He went 3-3 with three singles before being pulled in the seventh inning. He was diagnosed with a right groin strain and placed on the disabled list for the first time this season.
Cabrera is batting .268 this season with three home runs and two doubles. He's walked nine times and struck out 14 times in 16 games.
His slugging percentage and OPS are lower than any full season since he arrived in Detroit, but he was on the verge of breaking out before his injury. In his last eight games, he has 12 hits, three home runs, four walks and five strikeouts.
John Hicks was sent to Triple-A Toledo to make room for Cabrera after filling in for Cabrera over the last week. In seven games, Hicks contributed 11 hits -- including three doubles and a home run -- along with seven RBI and six runs scored. The 27-year-old struck out only three times in 26 at-bats.
The Tigers continue a four-game series against the Indians on Tuesday, sitting just a game out of first place in the AL Central.
