DETROIT – The last two months have been a roller coaster ride for Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, and the ride continued with a new report that came out Tuesday afternoon.
MLB.com's Jon Morosi tweeted that interest in Verlander "has increased" this week, and that a team other than the first-place Houston Astros has joined in the bidding.

Since the trade deadline passed, Verlander has done his best work of the season. He's 3-1 in August with 41 strikeouts in 36 innings. He's allowed just 23 hits, six walks and 10 runs over that span.
