DETROIT – On a lunch break last month, a small custom-built drone copter made a 10-minute flight through the city of Guildford, just outside of London.
It was carrying two large pepperoni pizzas.

T + Biscuts, an English creative agency, was hired by Domino's Pizza to test prototypes of a delivery drone named the "DomiCopter".
"We're looking at making flying pizzas a possibility," Tom Hatton, Master Brewer and founder of T + Biscuits, told NBC News.
Don't get too excited, though. A local copter powered delivery system is not coming any time soon. The firm primarily focuses on mobile apps, and while the video will garner them publicity, they aren't likely to focus on revolutionizing the delivery game, at least for now.
During the test run, two large pizzas were boxed, stacked and stashed in a thermally insulated pizza bag. The creative team hoisted the pizzas aboard the copter, operated by an experienced drone pilot. It traveled about 4 miles in about ten minutes.
The delivery was a success. The pizzas arrived at their destination in perfect shape, and in perfect time.
Though DomiCopter was the name finally settled upon, the firm's shortlist of names also included "Pepperdroney" and the "Flyin' Hawaiian," named after a pineapple pizza.
