Michigan dentist charged with 10 counts of Medicaid fraud
LANSING – A Dearborn dentist faces several felonies connected to fraudulent billing, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Wednesday. Ghada Beydoun, DDS, was arraigned on 10 counts of Medicaid fraud-false claim, a four-year felony, in 54B District Court in East Lansing. According to a news release, Dr. Beydoun was enrolled in Healthy Kids Dental, a Medicaid program intended to provide necessary dental care to the children of low-income households. The attorney general’s complaint alleges that on multiple occasions in 2017 and 2018, Dr. Beydoun billed Healthy Kids Dental for services—usually fillings—that she did not provide, therefore fraudulently obtaining taxpayer dollars. “The Medicaid program, and in particular programs like Healthy Kids Dental, are intended to provide essential services to Michigan children who might not otherwise be able to obtain these services,” Nessel said in a statement.
