DETROIT โ A Detroit fire chiefโs SUV was found dangling above the Lodge Freeway at Milwaukee and Baltimore early Monday morning. The SUV was the Detroit Fire Departmentโs Chief 5. Sources said the captain was driving under the influence. Repeated calls were made on the radio, but the captain could not be reached, sources said. 2 dead in Detroit house fire on Tracey Street
DETROIT โ A man and woman died in a Detroit house fire on Tracey Street that happened Monday afternoon, the Detroit Fire Department confirmed. According to DFD Deputy Fire Commissioner, Dave Fornell, one of the victims was 78 years old and the other was in their 60s. They were already dead even before we technically arrived,โ said Detroit Fire Chief Marvin Parker. Residents rescued from apartment fire in Detroitโs Midtown
DETROIT โ The Detroit Fire Department was on the scene of an apartment fire in Midtown on Monday. Residents were rescued from the apartment. Crews were seen at an apartment building in the 600 block of W. Bethune Avenue around 10:30 a.m.As of 11 a.m. there was no longer smoke or flames in the apartment. DETROIT A memorial service was held on Monday for Detroit Fire Sergeant Sivad Johnson in front of Detroit Public Safety Headquarters. Johnson died on Aug. 21 after going into the Detroit River, near Belle Isle, to save young children from drowning in the river. His body was recovered the next day by the Detroit Police Department and DFD divers. 9-year-old girl killed in house fire on Detroitโs west side
DETROIT โ A 9-year-old girl died early Tuesday morning in a house fire on Detroitโs west side. The father went to the back of the house and broke windows with his bare hands. โThe fire was basically confined to the living room and then to the little dining room off the side. Of course there is heavy smoke damage throughout the entire house,โ Fornell said.

DETROIT Police took two men in for questioning Thursday after the bodies of three men and an unidentified pet were found in a burned house on Detroits east side. ORIGINAL STORY: 3 men found dead in house fire on Helen Street in Detroit; 2 arrestedPolice said they are investigating the incident as a potential homicide and are unsure if the men inside died before the fire started. Police said the fire could have started in the living room and could have been an arson to cover up the cause of death of the men inside. Police say the suspects were arrested on unrelated warrants but theyre still being questioned. Neighbors claim to have heard gunshots before the explosion and saw a person fleeing the scene after the explosion.
