Larry Clark, the member of the famous Clark gospel family, joined us in studio on โLive in The Dโ with his three adorable children, Malcom, Chauncey and Chloe. They have a new album out and a childrenโs book titled โSummer Campโ. The family will be hosting a book signing tomorrow at Bakerโs Bible and Bookstore in Detroit.

Gospel star Rance Allen dies at 71
NEW YORK โ Gospel star Rance Allen, whose Rance Allen Group drew upon contemporary sounds for such 1970s hits as โAinโt No Need of Cryingโ and โI Belong To Youโ and anticipated such crossover gospel artists as the Winans and Amy Grant, has died at age 71. Allen was a longtime Toledo, Ohio resident and most recently bishop for Church of God in Christ for the Michigan Northwestern Harvest Jurisdiction. โI am so sorry to hear of the passing of Gospel Great, Bishop Rance Allen,โ singer Gloria Gaynor tweeted. On โJust My Salvation,โ the Allen Group reworked the Temptations melancholy love song โJust My Imaginationโ into an uptempo hymn. On his own, Rance Allen was nominated for a Grammy in 2009 for best gospel performance for โI Understand,โ which featured Mariah Carey and BeBe Winans among others.
McDonalds, Detroit Praise Network seek cityโs next Gospel singing star
DETROIT โ McDonaldโs and The Detroit Praise Network are looking for the Motor Cityโs next young Gospel star! Young gospel singers between the ages of 10-17 are invited to submit a YouTube video link featuring them singing their favorite gospel song acapella or with music. Submissions are being accepted now thru September 25, 2020 at 12 p.m.Beginning on Monday, Sept. 28, listeners will be invited to visit Detroitpraisenetwork.com and vote for their favorite Gospel singer. โI feel like we have so much incredible talent in Detroit,โ said Myles. โWe want to spotlight talented young gospel singers with this once in a lifetime singing contest.โThe promotion is sponsored by McDonaldโs Inspiration Celebration Gospel Virtual Tour Broadcast.
The Clark Sisters put their lives on the screen in new biopic
The Clark sisters have a new movie called โThe First Ladies of Gospelโ that describes their humble beginnings to winning multiple Grammys. Host Jason Carr got the chance to chat with Shelea Frazier, who plays Dorenda Clark Cole in the movie โThe First Ladies of Gospelโ. She also explained the pain, work ,and dedication that it took for the Clark Sisters to become a Grammy-Award winning group. โThe First Ladies of Gospelโ will premiere Saturday April 11, on Lifetime.
