Police said the force from the crash caused both vehicles to travel into the median, where the Toyota struck a tree and rolled onto its roof, and the Yukon continued through the median, across the parkway through an embankment and wooden privacy fence before coming to a stop.

Police said the drivers of both vehicles were seriously injured, while a passenger in the Toyota, a 64-year-old woman, was taken to an area hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 586-493-7800.
