Green Oak Township fire chief struck by car on NB US-23

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. – The Green Oak Township fire chief was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon on northbound US-23 at 9 Mile Road (M-36).

Chief Kevin Gentry was out assisting an accident when he was struck by a vehicle on highway. The Green Oak Township Fire Department says the chief suffered minor injuries and will be held overnight at the hospital.

No other injuries have been reported.

Gentry has been the township's fire chief for two weeks.

The northbound US-23 lanes were temporarily closed but have since reopened.
