What happened:

Michigan State Police say this was caused by another crash that happened a 1/2 hour before. Police say a suspect in a hit-and-run crash was attempting to commit suicide. He was struck by a vehicle on US-23 and suffered minor injuries.

While traffic was stopped for that incident, the second crash happened about a 1/2 south on US-23. A semi-truck was unable to stop in time and struck a vehicle before striking another semi-truck. The truck finally came to a rest on a car hauler.

The driver from the vehicle is a woman who is in critical condition at a hospital. The drivers of the semi-trucks and the car hauler all were taken to a hospital for treatment.
