8 Mile Road closed at Groesbeck Highway at Detroit-Warren border due to derailed train

Closure expected to last 3 to 4 hours, police say

DETROIT – Eight Mile Road is closed in both directions at Groesbeck Highway at the Detroit-Warren border due to a derailed train, according to Michigan State Police officials.

Police said the closure is expected to last three to four hours.

It's unclear what caused the train to come off the tracks.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area of Eight Mile Road between Van Dyke and Groesbeck Highway during the cleanup.
