UPDATE: Northbound I-75 will no longer be closed at Livernois Avenue on Wednesday evening, MDOT announced.

The entire bridge was expected to be demolished, according to MDOT. However, an MDOT spokeswoman later said only a few beams will have to be taken down and replaced.

The interstate is expected to be reopened in time for Thursday morning rush hour, but this closure could last until Friday.

"Drivers should be aware of crews placing additional barrels on I-75 and equipment being brought to the site to prepare for the closure and demolition," reads a statement from MDOT.

The truck struck the side of the bridge over southbound I-75.

No injuries were reported.
