Oversized dump truck damages overpass on I-75 in Southwest Detroit

An overpass on I-75 was severely damaged on Oct. 3, 2017 when an oversized dump truck ran into it. (WDIV)

DETROIT – An oversized dump truck struck an overpass Tuesday on I-75 at Clark Avenue and Junction Street, causing severe damaged to the bridge.

One southbound lane of I-75 is open, allowing traffic to get by.

Drivers can exit at Springwells Street, where the freeway will be closed. They can reenter at Livernois Avenue.

There's no word yet on when the lanes will reopen.
