Southbound I-275 reopens at 8 Mile after crashes

Michigan State Police: No serious injuries reported

LIVONIA, Mich. – The southbound side of Interstate 275 was shut down for hours Wednesday at 8 Mile Road due to two separate crashes involving semi trucks.

The interstate reopened just before 5 p.m.

All traffic heading south on I-275 was being directed off at 8 Mile Road, and Traffic was backed up to westbound Interstate 696.

Michigan State Police say there were two separate crashes on I-275.

A car was pinned under a semi truck trailer. At least one other semi truck and two other vehicles also were involved in a crash.

There were no serious injuries in either crash, said state police.

The crashes are under investigation.
