PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Westbound M-14 was shut down at North Territorial Road in Plymouth Township for most of Tuesday afternoon due to a crash involving a construction worker.

The highway has reopened.

Michigan State Police say the construction worker was laying cable when he was struck by a vehicle. He has been rushed to a hospital where he is in serious condition.

It appears at least one vehicle was involved in this crash. The vehicle was on its roof in the ditch.

It's not clear how seriously injured the driver of the vehicle is, or if there were passengers in the vehicle.

Westbound traffic was backed up for miles before North Territorial Road.
