Taylor woman makes a difference with handwritten motivational cards

Alyssa Patrias, a young woman from Taylor, spreads joy by distributing motivational handwritten cards with the message "Have a happy day. Love, Alyssa" to strangers. Her mission started during the COVID pandemic when she noticed sad workers at her local grocery store and has since grown, resulting in over 16,000 cards distributed. Alyssa, who also creates art like flowers and jellyfish, attributes her talent to her grandfather and is preparing for the Miss Amazing event for women with disabilities. Her sister supports her mission with a coloring book about Alyssa's Happy Cards, and they are hosting a book signing and card distribution event to fundraise for Alyssa's participation in Miss Amazing.
