Metro Detroit weather: A Small Chance for Big Storms, June 5, 2020, noon update

It's a quiet start to the day, but we have a bit of a weather quandary to deal with later today: we need rain, but thunderstorms later will only be scattered...many of us likely won't see one. Those storms that do develop, however, could have strong wind gusts and hail, and we don't need those. Hence the quandary. The window for any storms is roughly 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., so keep an eye on the app's radar if you have outdoor plans late this afternoon or early this evening. After a hot one today (mid-to-upper 80s), it gets very pleasant this weekend.
