Mostly sunny, chilly Friday

DETROIT – Friday morning will be cold, but skies will clear. Temps will be near freezing or in the upper 20s. Along with their sweaters and jackets, drivers will need their sunglasses as more blue sky appears.

Friday afternoon will be mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the middle 40s. Fall colors in Detroit and Southeast Michigan are beyond peak, but many red, orange and yellow leaves are still hanging on to their branches. For many, the weather will be good for raking any fallen leaves just in time for pick-up.

Friday night will be mostly clear and cold with lows in the middle and low 30s. Anyone going to the Palace Of Auburn Hills to watch Chauncey Billups, KCP and the Detroit Pistons take on the Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder will need their favorite Pistons jackets, hats and gloves to stay warm outside the arena.

Veterans' Day Weekend will be dry for everyone commemorating the service and sacrifice for America's veterans. It will be chilly outdoors for any parades or ceremonies.

Some sun returns Saturday with highs in the middle and middle 50s. Skies will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy. There will be plenty of maize and blue coats, sweatshirts and hats at Michigan Stadium as fans watch and cheer for the Wolverines as they play against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Sunday will become chillier again with morning lows in the middle and upper 30s and afternoon temps in the middle and upper 40s. Skies will be mostly sunny. Any Detroit Lions fans traveling to the Windy City to support the team against the Bears at 1pm will be greeted with the same weather as home; mostly sunny and chilly with temps in the 40s.

Veterans' Day, Monday, will be mostly sunny and chilly again with highs in the upper 40s. A good streak of sunshine continues into the middle of next week.
