DETROIT – Sunday morning will be dry, but many homeowners who raked leaves Saturday may have to do more clean-up Sunday. A gusty wind from the west will keep Southeast Michigan breezy and bring in chillier air.
People and families going to Veterans' Day commemorations and ceremonies, like the one in Wilson Park in Milan, will need jackets, hats and knit gloves to keep warm. Lions' fans going to Chicago to watch Detroit take on the Bears will have chilly, bright weather at Soldiers Field, as well.
Sunday afternoon will be mostly sunny and chilly in Detroit and Southeast Michigan with highs in the middle and upper 40s.
Sunday evening will be partly cloudy with temps falling to near 40 degrees.
Sunday night will become mostly cloudy and cold with lows near 35.
Veterans' Day, Monday, will remain gray and chilly with morning temps in the middle and low 30s and daytime temps between 40 and 45 degrees. Another cold front will bring a chilly rain Monday afternoon. By nightfall, snowflakes will join raindrops creating slipperier conditions by midnight. Fortunately, any accumulations will be minor.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be sunnier but much colder. Winter gear will be needed for the kids to keep cozy. Morning lows will be sub-freezing, in the 20s. The mercury will barely rise to 35 degrees each day. Thankfully, it will be mostly sunny each day. Temperatures return to the 40s by Friday.
