Mild morning with pockets of fog

Expect a brief warmup today

The low clouds and fog are lingering but our temps are warming nicely.

A warm front sliding through SE Michigan will keep cloud cover with us and a chance for a few light rain showers by the evening commute. Highs will get into the low 50s with winds SE 6-12 mph. A few light rain showers will hang around through Thursday morning and then depart quickly as cold air moves in.

The brief warm up comes to a halt as we finish out the work and school week.  We will see our highs Thursday early in the day with dropping temps into the afternoon as winds begin to gust and blow colder air into Metro Detroit. Temps in the upper 40s early falling into the upper 30s by afternoon or early evening. Winds will be brisk from the West 10-20 mph.

There's a dangerous storm south of our border with Ohio and will bring ice and snow through the Ohio Valley Friday. We may get a glancing blow from it with some light snow early Friday mainly south of I-94. But it turns cold Friday with 20s and 30s and cooler wind chills. Get ready for a chilly weekend and a chance of measureable snow by Monday morning.
