Mild start to your workweek

Highs Monday may flirt with 50 degrees

DETROIT – A mild start to your Monday, with temps in the 30s under mostly cloudy skies.

There are a few light rain and snow showers in Southern Ontario through the morning but we should remain dry across SE Michigan. Highs today may flirt with 50 degrees depending on the amount of sun and how long it lasts. Winds from the southwest 10-15 mph will gust close to 20 mph bringing the mild air into the area. Expect temps in the middle to upper 40s for most of the day.

Another mild day Tuesday with a slight chance for a bit of drizzle early in the morning. Again, most of the day tomorrow is dry in the mid 40s through the afternoon. But, a winter storm is brewing and will be moving in late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

Temps will fall fast and we should get a decent amount of snow early Wednesday. The ice threat will be south of Michigan as we expect mainly snow. We will keep you on guard as more model data becomes available. Right now, we think there could be a solid 2-4" of snow early Wednesday and some of our data is showing some areas seeing even more. It's a bit early as we are monitoring the track and potential of the storm which is just forming over the Pacific Ocean.

Temps drop sharply Wednesday with the snow in the mid 20s to low 30s. Thursday will be a brief return to the cold with single digit lows and highs in the 20s. But Friday and Saturday will bring back 40 degree temps.
