DETROIT – We are seeing periods of moderate to heavy rain this morning but how long it sticks around is a bit up in the air.

Either way, be prepared for a slower commute and grab the umbrella before you head out.

Heavier rain over Central Ohio may pivot in our direction still this morning which could cause pooling and ponding on the roads.  

After moderate morning rain, temps will warm to near 70° this afternoon with winds shifting to SE 7-15 mph.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of SE Michigan under a slight risk for severe weather later this afternoon and early evening.

Storms developing in the warmer air will be capable of producing isolated hail and wind damage.

The tornado threat is very low but still exists. Keep your eyes to the skies and make sure you stay tuned to Local 4 News and clickondetroit.com.

  More scattered rain showers continue Wednesday with pockets of heavy rain and highs in the mid 60s, cooling at times with rain around.

Our wet week will continue Thursday and Friday but the rain will be lighter and more scattered later in the week.

Temperatures will also fall back a bit later in the week in the 40s and 50s with lingering light rain showers heading into your weekend.
