Cooler than average start with cloudy skies

DETROIT – It's a cooler than average start to your week with mostly cloudy skies.

There is a Frost Advisory in the Thumb Region where a few areas up north may see morning lows drop to near freezing which is a threat to sensitive vegetation.

The rest of us will be in the mid to upper 30s to low 40s this morning.

Mostly cloudy skies for the rest of today with a slight chance for a few showers.

If you take a look a radar, you'll see moisture streaming out of Northern Illinois and Northern Wisconsin.

So, the best bet for a few showers will be along and south of I-94 this morning.

And, also into our northern counties this afternoon.

Keep a chance of a few light showers in the back of your mind as you plan your day ahead.

High temperatures will likely get stuck in the mid to upper 50s today with light winds becoming South 5-10 mph.

We will start to warm up a bit starting Tuesday around Metro Detroit.

Highs tomorrow will climb into the low 60s with more sunshine and fairly light winds NE 5-10 mph.

Wednesday through Friday will be very spring like with highs near 70° on Wednesday and well into the 70s Thursday and hopefully Friday.

With the surge in temps, comes a threat for rain and thundershowers.

Early indications and model information call for rain and thunder early Wednesday and then again late Thursday and early Friday.
