Mild Monday morning, but getting warmer

Highs will be near 70

DETROIT – It's not as cold out there this morning compared to the 30s we felt early all weekend.

There will be mostly clear skies and it will be mild this morning. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s, but it will turn to partly sunny this afternoon. Clouds will be a bit thicker in our northern suburbs throughout the day, but look for mid and high level clouds to be on the increase throughout the day. Highs will reach near 70 degrees. The clouds may try to squeeze out some sprinkles early this evening, but don't expect any problems on your Monday.

Showers will be moving through Tuesday, both in the morning and afternoon hours. Tuesday high temps will again be 70 degrees or warmer. There are no severe weather guidelines set by the Storm Prediction Center for SE Michigan Tuesday and we will keep an eye out and let you know if that changes. Again, mostly cloudy with highs around 72° Tuesday with scattered rain and thundershowers.

A cool front will swing through on Wednesday, but not before we see our third day in a row of 70 degrees or warmer. In fact, we may be closer to 80 degrees Wednesday with scattered rain and thundershowers again in the forecast ahead of the cool front. The severe threat will be a bit more likely as the guidance shows a target for stronger storms south into Ohio Wednesday. Again, we'll keep a close eye on it!
