DETROIT – Thursday morning will be fair, cool and crisp for motorists going to work and dropping their children off at summer camp. Temperatures will start in the middle and low 50s with a few clouds overhead.
Thursday afternoon will be mostly sunny, warm and delightful. For die-hard summer weather fans, it will be cooler than average, and they may say it feels like spring or early spring. Highs will be in the upper 70s.
Thursday evening will cool off with mostly clear skies. Temperatures will be in the low 70s and 60s.
Thursday night is one where homeowners will save money on their air conditioning bills. Families can sleep with the windows up under a starry sky and lows in the 50s to near 60 degrees.
Friday and the first half of the weekend will be warmer with comfortable humidity. Highs will be near 80 on Friday and in the low 80s Saturday. Weather will be good for the start of the Bayview to Mackinac boat race. Winds will blow from the southwest at 6 to 12 mph. The next chance of showers and thunderstorms is on Saturday night and Sunday.
