Cool, dry morning before rain Monday afternoon

Spectacular weather returns this week

DETROIT – Grab both the shades and umbrella as you head out the door today!

We'll start the new work week with a dry morning rush hour, but clouds will increase and light rain should develop during the afternoon.

The afternoon rush hour will be wet for many of us, so plan on a little extra time getting home from work.

Highs in the mid 60s, with southwest winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Rain ends by midnight tonight, with skies starting to clear out after that.  Lows in the upper 40s.

Then mostly sunny overall Tuesday through Friday!

There may be a partly cloudy period later Wednesday into Wednesday night as a weak cold front swings through (it shouldn't generate any rain).

Highs in the mid 60s Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, then into the upper 60s by Friday.  Overnight lows will hang in the 40s.

The weekend appears to start off on a very pleasant note, with partly cloudy skies on Saturday and highs reaching the low to mid 70s, followed by a cold front Saturday night into Sunday bringing showers back to the area.

As long as this timing doesn't change, Saturday is looking like the much better of the two weekend days.
