Sunny Friday with wet weekend ahead

Freezing rain threat for weekend

DETROIT – A chilly start in the teens on your finally Friday and the roads are in better shape today.

The winds have relaxed too keeping the wind chills from being too brutal early this morning.

It will be cold once again with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 20s and winds SW 5-10 mph.

As the lake effect snow machines all around the Great Lakes begin to relax, we will have some sun Friday and things begin to warm as we head into the weekend.

Saturday looks tricky with a wintry mix early in the day which could include some ice and freezing rain between 5am and 10am.

As temps warm, it looks like mostly rain showers hit and miss late Saturday as highs climb into the low 40s late in the day with upper 30s most of the afternoon.

Rain will be a bit heavier early Sunday and the models hint that we may see dry periods through the late morning and afternoon.

But, Sunday will be warmer highs climbing into the upper 40s.
