Deep freeze continues grip on southeast Michigan

Severe weather alert declared

DETROIT – The wind chill should warm above -15° toward noon today, but it will feel like it is below zero much of the day as actual temperatures struggle to rise above single digits. Today's high will be around 6°.

The NNW wind will change over to a SW wind tonight and increase to 30 mph gusts Tuesday.

The SW wind will lead to a rise in temps Tuesday while a low pressure system will likely bring evening flurries with less than an inch of snow accumulation.

Another arctic blast returns Thursday and Friday with the possibility of breaking more record low temperatures.
