Cold temperatures, but lots of sunshine on Tuesday

Tracking trouble for Wednesday

DETROIT – Dress warm and grab the shades as we expect plenty of sunshine throughout your Tuesday morning and afternoon.

Later today, we'll see highs near 40 degrees with mostly sunny skies most of the day and light winds ESE 5-12 mph.

Tuesday night will be dry, but a wintry mix will be working in from the south early on Wednesday morning.

We will wake up to a mess on Wednesday morning with freezing rain and a rain/snow mix possible by 3am around SE Michigan.

But, warmer air will move in with this storm and should change that morning mix over to plain rain showers before the Wednesday morning commute.

Most of the wet weather will wrap up by 9 or 10am leaving scattered light rain into the early afternoon.

Mid to late afternoon will be dry as highs climb back into the mid to upper 50s.

Expect gusty winds SW 15-25 mph with occasional gusts over 30 mph through the afternoon and evening.

We will likely see a few light rain and snow showers on Thursday by late morning or early afternoon.

This will again likely be mostly rain but a few of us could see a light dusting of snow on Thursday before any change over.

Thursday highs will be in the mid to upper 40s early in the day with a slow but steady drop through the second half of the day.

Friday and Saturday will be partly to mostly sunny, dry, and cold with lows in the 20s and highs in the 30s.

We have another chance at a few snowflakes on Sunday… stay tuned
