Saturday morning will be very cold for March. Temps will be near 15°F in Motown and in the low teens in the suburbs. Some readings and wind chills will be in the single digits. Anyone going outside to work out or travel must dress warmly to remain comfortable and healthy. Skies will be mostly sunny, and it looks like a good car wash-day.

Saturday afternoon will be mostly sunny but feel like winter with hockey at Joe Louis Arena. The Detroit Red Wings host the Tampa Bay Lightning while fighting for the NHL Playoffs. The puck drops at 2pm EDT. Highs will be in the low 30s after a Red Wings' win.

Saturday evening will be fair and cold with temps in the 20s.

Saturday night will be mostly clear and very cold, again, with lows near 20 in the city (with the heat island effect) and in the middle and upper teens in the suburbs.

Sunday will start with sunshine and end with clouds, but temps will be a bit higher. Daytime readings will be near 45°F, so Detroiters can shed one layer from yesterday's three or four. There is a chance of chilly rain showers after 5pm EDT. Families with all-day plans away from home will want to throw umbrellas and rain gear and the trunk for later.

There may be a few snowflakes mixing with raindrops Sunday night as temps dip to near freezing. Monday will be chilly and windy with highs in the middle 40s and wind chills in the 30s in the afternoon.

A warm-up with temps in the 50s to near 60 degrees will arrive during the middle of next week, especially Wednesday.
