Cooler temps with wind gusts Tuesday in metro Detroit

DETROIT – Highs will struggle to climb back into the upper 50s to low 60s.

The winds will be WSW 15-25 mph gusting close to 40 mph at times.

These are not storm gusts but are still capable of knocking around the garbage cans and hanging flower baskets.

Clouds will increase throughout the late morning and afternoon but it will be mostly dry today.

We may see a pocket of drizzle here and there but not much wet today's cold front as highs will likely only hit the low 60s with gusty winds WSW 15-25 gusting close to 40 mph at times

We will get more a bit more sunshine Wednesday as highs again hover around 60 degrees under only partly sunny skies. The winds will relax tomorrow NNW 5-15 mph.  And Thursday brings more sunshine as highs climb back into the mid 60s.

Our next chance for wet weather comes Friday. It is a long way away but scattered showers will likely be in the area to end the work and school week.

Highs by Friday will be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees with rain and thunder possible.

There has been a change in the weekend outlook with shower chances both days.

We have the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure in Detroit this Saturday and we will keep a close eye on the computer models and forecast as we get closer.

Right now, it looks mostly dry with most of the wet weather across extreme southern Michigan and down into Ohio. Highs this weekend should be in the 70s with morning lows near 60 degrees.
