Clouds bring cooler temps Wednesday

Highs in mid 70s

DETROIT – Clouds are on the increase this morning as temps have cooled mainly into the upper 50s as you head out. Expect mostly cloudy skies around Metro Detroit today with highs struggling in the low to mid 70s.

The overcast skies will keep the sun from warming us… so pleasant but not a great pool day. Moisture being pushed up from Tropical Depression Bill will be close to us on Wednesday afternoon but most of you north of I-94 will still stay dry.

Most of the rain and storms will be south into Ohio but our southern counties could get clipped with some afternoon rain and thunder tomorrow afternoon with a high of 75 degrees and winds ESE 5-10 mph.

We will likely see more rain and thunder into the afternoon Thursday as a cool front passes after highs hit near 80 degrees again. That front, with increased humidity and heat, will spark a few stronger storms tomorrow afternoon. SE Michigan is once again under a slight risk for Severe Storms later Thursday afternoon. That means scattered, short lived storms with intense rain and winds are possible. Highs tomorrow return into the low 80s, muggy, and breezy with winds SW 7-17 mph gusting over 20 mph at times.

That same cold front sets up a perfect Friday with highs in the mid to upper 70s and mostly sunny conditions.

The weekend ahead looks spotty with some sun and more chances for light showers Saturday and scattered storms Sunday afternoon … stay tuned!
