Few showers possible Saturday evening

Temps will be in 70s

DETROIT – Although rain is in Detroit's warm Fathers' Day Weekend forecast, it will not be a wash-out. Showers may occur on the day of the Ford Fireworks.

Weather will be mostly cooperating Saturday evening for families doing last minute Fathers' Day shopping. A few showers are possible. Temps will be in the 70s.

Saturday night may have a lingering shower or two, but the significant feature will be increased humidity. It will feel like a sultry summer night less than twelve hours before the official start of astronomical summer. Make sure the air conditioner is working as lows remain in the middle and upper 60s.

Happy Fathers' Day, Sunday! Skies will be partly sunny and it will be warm. Highs will be in the low to middle 80s with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Similar to Saturday, most of the time outside will be fine. Just carry umbrellas and rain gear to be safe.

Summer begins at 12:38 p.m. ET Sunday.

Monday will be partly sunny with more on and off showers and storms in the forecast during the day. Highs will be near 75 degrees. Any wet weather will dissipate by sunset, so the Ford Fireworks look like all systems go. Local 4 is the place to be to prepare or and watch the big show.

Next Tuesday and Friday will remain warm with daytime temps in the upper 70s and low 80s. Detroiters will continue to save on their water bills with chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms.
