Forecast: More sun, cooler temps in metro Detroit
DETROIT – It's tough to complain about much of anything today or going forward as we ease into August.
Temperatures are running close to but slightly below average. The "muggies" have packed up and have no return ticket to southeast Michigan. And we should see more sun than clouds for the balance of the week.
For the remainder of the evening, any stray shower north of the city will dry out quickly before sunset. Overnight we'll dip back into the 50s again. Expect any of these cumulus clouds from the afternoon to fade away during the evening.
On Wednesday, mostly sunny skies return, but temperatures won't quite make 80. We'll finish in the upper 70s.
Look for slowly warming temperatures through the back half of the week until we return to the mid 80s by the end of the weekend. Humidity will likely spike back to "muggy" territory on Sunday afternoon.
There really isn't any major chance of rain waiting to move through until Sunday. That's when we'll see a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
