Scattered storm chances Monday in metro Detroit

DETROIT – The Dog Days of Summer bring us very warm overnight during this stretch of hot days.

We'll see some sunshine during the first half of the day with some clouds filling in through the afternoon.

It's warm and muggy with highs in the upper 80s feeling like low 90s later on.

And, we will see a few scattered rain and thundershowers after 1 or 2pm through the afternoon and evening.

This will not be a widespread washout as many of us will stay dry.

Rain chances increase throughout the week.  We will see a better chance at more widespread rain and thunder tomorrow across SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario.

Highs tomorrow should stay in the low to mid 80s with storms around yet right now, there's no risk for severe weather.

Wednesday brings our best chance at strong and severe weather to Metro Detroit.

We have a couple of days to prepare and monitor the forecast, but get ready for widespread strong storm chances midweek and hopefully some much needed August rain.
