Mostly sunny Sunday afternoon, cool again

DETROIT – Sunshine returns to metro Detroit Sunday, but it remains cool. Summer-like temperatures will come back this week.

Sunday evening will be fair and cool with temperatures in the 50s. Happy Rosh Hashanah! Sunset is at 7:49 p.m.

Sunday night will become chilly again with clear skies and and a new moon. Low temperatures will be in the 40s in Detroit's suburbs and near 50 degrees in the city.

Monday will be milder with abundant sunshine. The Motown area will break 70 degrees with highs in the low 70s. Students can enjoy outdoor recess and superb conditions for after-school practice and activities. Sunset will be at 7:47 p.m.

More sunshine is coming mid-week with higher temperatures. Afternoon readings will be in the upper 70s on Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will have highs just above 80 degrees; 5 to 10 degrees above average. The next chance of rain is on Friday and Saturday.
