Foggy first day of fall

Highs in the upper 70s

DETROIT – Happy First Day of Fall!

Fog during the early-morning hours turns to haze mid-morning and then wall to wall sunshine takes hold through your Wednesday afternoon. Highs today will hit the mid and upper 70s. The slightly cooler east winds may keep east siders in the mid 70s, while those farther inland will see warmer temps today.

here will be a mini trend of foggy mornings around SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario today, tomorrow, and Friday. It's a minor weather feature but can be tricky for those traveling early so be careful. Highs will be in the upper 70s through the end of the work and school week after lows in the low to mid 50s in Detroit, cooler upper 40s in the suburbs.

The weekend looks clear and mild with no chances for rain coming any time soon. We really could use the rain, but at the same time we'll take a beautiful weekend in the mid 70s with tons of sun.  It may be the middle of next week before we get a legitimate shot of rain. Right now, a cold front next Tuesday and/or Wednesday is our best rain chance ahead. Get the FREE Local4Casters Weather and Storm Pins apps to stay ahead of any storms.
