Chilly Sunday morning, cool afternoon

Highs in the upper 50s

DETROIT – Sunday morning will be cold, and the afternoon will be cool. Skies will have sunshine today and for the beginning of this week. Much need rain arrives afterward.

Sunday morning wlll be mostly clear and quite chilly. Temps will be near 40 degrees in Detroit and in the middle and upper 40s in the city's suburbs. Families going to and from services and Lions tailgaters will need jackets, hats and gloves to remain warm.

Sunday afternoon will be mostly to partly sunny and cool with temperatures in the middle and upper 50s. Solid outerwear still must be worn to stay comfortable  such as Zoo Boo at the Detroit Zoo.

Sunday evening will be chilly with temperatures in the 40s.

Sunday night will become cold with fair skies. Overnight lows will be in the middle and upper 30s.

Monday and Tuesday will have blue skies over forests of red, orange and yellow. Afternoon temps will be in the upper 50s and low 50s.

Wednesday will provide much needed rain. Temps will be near 60 degrees during the day, and precipitation lingers in to Thursday.
