Cool and windy Thursday in the works

Highs in the high 40s

DETROIT – You can expect a blustery Thursday around Metro Detroit.

Highs will struggle to climb into the 50s with mostly cloudy skies and isolated showers. Those showers are streaming from Lake Michigan west to east and my try to drop sleet or a snowflake, but moisture is very limited. Again the big story today is the cold and wind as winds will be West 15-30 mph gusting 30-40 mph at times.

Friday looks dry but only partly sunny with morning lows in the 30s tomorrow and highs barely climbing back into the low 50s. The wind will be much lighter and although cool, a nice end to the work and school week.

Our computer model data is conforming to Saturday showers as we head into the Halloween Weekend. The latest data suggests most of Saturday will be dry with highs in the mid 50s and mostly cloudy skies. Rain chances increase after 5 or 6pm with a few light evening showers likely.

Rain gets a little heavier late Saturday into very early Sunday. But, the general trend is a dry Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds and back into the 60s. We could see 70 by Tuesday as warmer air slides back into SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario temporarily.
