Near record high temps Wednesday, cloudy

Highs in the middles 60s

DETROIT – Get ready for a busy weather Hump Day.

We will be near a record highs as temps start warm in the 50s warming to the middle 60s. The Detroit Record High for today is 69° and we will likely fall just shy with rain moving in. It will be cloudy and breezy through the lunch hour with rain moving this afternoon. It should be steady through the afternoon and early evening with occasional rain breaks and hopefully a good quarter inch of fresh rain to SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario today. The winds will be cranking SSE 15-25 mph gusting 30-40 mph.

A cold front moves across Metro Detroit Thursday dropping temps for the end of our week and weekend. Cool breezes will keep blowing tomorrow as we start with some clouds and finish with some sunshine tomorrow. Thursday highs will struggle in the low 50s but remember average or normal highs for this time of year are in the upper 40s. That wind tomorrow SW 10-25 mph will make it feel cooler.

Friday will be colder in the low 30s to mid 40s and dry with a mix of sun and clouds. We will see our first measurable snow Saturday. This could also be a wintry mix, but if it's all wet snow Saturday morning, we will see  some minor accumulation of around 1" in spots. It's the kind of snow that could stick to grassy surfaces and make driving around Saturday very difficult.
