Cloudy skies overnight in metro Detroit
We’re still watching bands of snow moving through our corner of the state, but they’ll dry up after midnight. That’s before another round of snow showers moves through tomorrow.
Tonight, evening snow showers will transition to cloudy skies overnight. Temperatures will drop to around 20 degrees, but winds will stay between 10-15 mph. That will keep wind chills in the teens and single numbers through daybreak.
Wednesday, the snow won’t be as widespread, or amount to as much. Lake effect snow showers will add up to an additional inch of snow to what we picked up today. Outside of those bands of snow, clouds will break up in spots, giving us at least some peeks at the sun. Temperatures won’t budge much from our starting numbers. Mid 20s are the best we can expect in the afternoon.
That will end our snow chances (except for a possible flurry on Friday) through the upcoming weekend, but it won’t stop the cold. Temperatures will drop to lows in the single numbers for both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Daytime highs will barely reach 10 degrees on Saturday. Then we’ll start a slow moderation in temps until we finally get back above freezing by Tuesday of next week.
