Cold, cloudy night in metro Detroit

More snow to come

DETROIT – Nice to see the sunshine today, but it didn’t help us out much in the temperature department. How about this for some good news: Today was the coldest we’ll have to deal with for the ENTIRE 10 Day Forecast!

Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies through the evening. Clouds will increase overnight as another winter storm slides south of us. Lows will drop into the upper teens and with calm winds, wind chills won’t be an issue.

Thursday, snow from that Ohio Valley low pressure center will just brush our southern counties in the afternoon and evening. So south of Detroit, we may see a fresh coating of snow. It won’t be any more than an inch, though.  Temperatures will touch 30 degrees in the afternoon.

Friday, we get plenty of sunshine back. Highs will be in the low 30s.

Then Saturday, plan on a clipper system blanketing more of the area with light snow. This one likely will give us an inch or two, but it will come with warmer temperatures. Highs will be in the mid 30s.

Next week is looking very spring-like. Highs will be in the 50s four out of the five work/school days. And once we rise above freezing early Monday morning, we’ll stay above that mark into NEXT weekend!
