Storm chances Wednesday afternoon in metro Detroit

DETROIT – It’s going to be another warm one with some hazy sun, but mostly high cloudiness through the day bringing highs into the upper 70s to low 80s.

Showers and storms will be trying to sneak in through the afternoon, but we still have the dry air blowing in limiting action as winds are NE/SE 5-10 mph keeping east siders a little cooler.  Isolated rain showers and storms are possible after 2pm, but more likely this evening around 7pm and beyond. We could use the rain although the model data suggests much of the incoming storm line will weaken as it moves in.  Evening showers are still a good bet.

Right now, severe weather is unlikely with parts of Western Michigan seeing one or two earlier in the day.

A few early morning showers Thursday will lead to a gradual clearing and very nice weather tomorrow. Skies will become partly to mostly sunny as highs will once again be near 80 degrees and winds WSW 5-15 mph may gust over 20 mph at times.

Cooler air pools in for Friday and the weekend. Sunshine and highs in the mid to maybe upper 70s Friday will make for an ideal day in early June. The weekend looks decent with sun and 70s Saturday, followed by a chance for a few evening showers and storms. Then showers likely on and off Sunday.
