Fabulous Friday, but what about your weekend?

DETROIT – Mostly sunny today…a spectacular day at the Comerica Bank Free Prix Day on Belle Isle.  Just don’t forget the sunscreen.  As I mentioned earlier in the week, the sun’s rays right now are in the period where they are at their strongest of the summer…you’ll burn pretty easily if not protected.  Highs in the upper 70s (that’s 26° Celsius for our Canadian friends using the metric system).  Northwest wind at 4 to 8 mph.

Today’s sunrise is at 5:58 AM, and today’s sunset is at 9:05 PM.

The weather looks equally awesome if you’re going to the Tigers game at Comerica Park this evening…the White Sox are in town…with temperatures generally falling through the 70s to near 70° (21° Celsius) by the end of the game.  Skies will be mostly clear to start tonight, before becoming partly cloudy later on, with lows near 60° (15° Celsius).

Partly cloudy to start on Saturday, with clouds increasing during the afternoon.  I think any approaching rain will hold off until the evening hours, which is good news for the Grand Prix races.  But still, it’ll be a close call for the end of the Saturday race, so I suggest checking the radar every so often on our FREE Local4Casters app to stay ahead of the weather.  And don’t forget to follow me on Twitter (@PGLocal4 and @Local4Casters), as I’ll tweet radar updates if the need arises.  Highs Saturday in the upper 70s (26° Celsius).

Showers and thunderstorms are likely Saturday night, with lows in the upper 50s (15° Celsius).

The Saturday night band of showers and storms should end during the morning hours.  However, additional scattered activity could pop up in the afternoon, and this is the concern for Sunday’s Grand Prix activities.  Today’s computer models still are not in agreement on the Sunday afternoon scenario.  A lot of you will be watching our app’s radar very closely Sunday…let’s hope we don’t get a repeat of last year’s rain.  Stay tuned and, again, follow me on Twitter for quick updates.  Highs Sunday in the mid 70s (24° Celsius).

Scattered showers are still possible Sunday night, with lows in the mid 50s (13° Celsius).

Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy on Monday, with scattered showers developing.  Highs in the low 70s (22° Celsius).

Showers diminish Monday night, with lows in the mid 50s (12° Celsius).

Partly cloudy Tuesday with a stray light rain shower still possible.  Highs only near 70° (21° Celsius).

Wednesday looks spectacular, with mostly sunny skies and very comfortable afternoon highs reaching the mid 70s (25° Celsius).
