Metro Detroit weather forecast: Heat, humidity return Tuesday

Comfortable Monday evening with low humidity

DETROIT – The normal heat in Metro Detroit will give way to fantastic conditions, with low humidity Monday evening. But both ends of that equation will be moving up over the next few days.

Skies will be mostly clear Monday night. We’ll have another comfortable night as humidity stays very low for this time of year. Overnight lows will drop to the mid-60s in our Metro Zone, while the rest of us will see lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Sunshine is back Tuesday. Humidity will go back to being noticeable, but not muggy. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s.

The heat and humidity will spike on Wednesday. Highs will be in the low 90s, but it will feel more like the mid-to-upper 90s with the higher humidity.

Expect the same feel Thursday, but with a shot at an afternoon thunderstorm. Coverage won’t be great, but with our Metro Zone and part of our South Zone still in drought conditions, any chance at getting wet is good.

Friday will be the area's best shot at thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon. Extra cloud cover should knock a few degrees off of afternoon temperatures. But with the same or even higher levels of humidity, it will still feel like the mid-to-upper 90s.

Then temperatures will start cooling down for a mostly dry weekend.
